CONSERVATORY PROGRAM
The Conservatory Program is organized to provide a uniquely focused training for each level. In the beginner and elementary Levels (Levels I and II), students are required to attend two 60 minute classes per week. Here they will acquire the initial layers of knowledge that form the foundation of ballet technique. These primary levels are considered the most important of all, because the students’ development from this point on depends greatly on the strength of their early base.

The upper elementary and advanced (Levels III, IV, and V) students hone their skills by building on their basic foundation. Master teachers insure that students become the best young artists they can be. Class schedules intensify with the addition of pointe work, variations and repertoire, as well as increased participation in rehearsal, performance and special events.

Students may be allowed to begin pointe work in level III: readiness is individually assessed by the ballet faculty.

BALLET TECHNIQUE LEVEL III WITH PRE-POINTE
BALLET TECHNIQUE LEVEL IV WITH POINTE
BALLET TECHNIQUE LEVEL V WITH POINTE
The Classical Syllabus is based on the traditional French, Italian and Danish schools. which became the Russian technique developed by Agrippa Vaganova and known as the Vaganova Syllabus. All students will take classes in this technique. Each level will be taught by only one or two different teachers, to assure consistency in training.

It is extremely important to note that a level is merely an indication of a student’s current technical development. Placement in levels is neither an arbitrary process nor is it based on years of study or age. Students will be placed where the Artistic Director and faculty feel they will learn the most and where gaps in training can be addressed. At the same time, students will be allowed and encouraged to advance through the level system according to their own hard work and dedicated attendance. Those who choose to follow this path become technically articulate, elite, professional artists and athletes.
